With role-playing games like Skyrim, Oblivion and Morrowind, the world of Tamriel has become one of the most popular and well-known gaming worlds on the PC and the PlayStation and Xbox consoles over the years. A son commemorates his late mother in The Elder Scrolls games with a very special change, he got tips from the modding community.
How does the person remember her mother? A player named “VIIVII” commemorates his mother in 3 Elder Scrolls games with a mod:
The mod “In Memory of my Mom” can be downloaded for Skyrim, Oblivion and Morrowind: A protective shrine then appears in each of the iconic role-playing games, which gives the player life, magick, stamina or stat buffs.
Son tries to cope with his mother’s death
What’s the story behind it? The player, whose name is Eric and lives in the US, says:
My mother Teneele died in January. She only lived to be 46 and ever since I’ve been trying to come to terms with the fact that she left.
He saw immortalizing her in her favorite games as a way to cope with the mother’s early death. But because he had no idea about mods, he turned to the community and quickly found help there to modify shrines in the 3 Elder Scrolls games.
The player says his mother introduced and introduced him to the world of Elder Scrolls. Skyrim, Oblivion and Morrowind were her favorite games.
Nothing great came out of his attempt to honor her, just a modified Mara shrine in Skyrim with an inscription that simply says, “She can live in any adventure I have in Tamriel.”
In Morrowind it became an “Imperial Cult” shrine with a note, in Oblivion a “Priory Altar of the Nine” and again a note that the mother is with every adventure.
Where are the shrines? VIIVII says he thought something. Because his mother suffered all her life from “re-starteritis”; started games over and over again. Therefore, the shrines are placed at the beginning of each game.
VIIVII says:
The funniest thing about making the mods for my mother is that she has never played with mods herself and now her memory will be a mod.
VIIVII ends his description of the mods: “Whatever, that’s all. If you want to attach screenshots, feel free to do so. The most important thing I can tell you is call your parents and tell them how much you love them. You never know how much time you have left.”
The mod has been downloaded about 200 times in all 3 games together. It’s kind of a nice thought that the mother lives on in other people’s games.
