According to Mouigni Baraka Saïd Soilihi, one of the main opponents of the head of state, there was never any question of trusting the president. For him, if the power accepts their conditions and that negotiations take place, the opposition will ask for the participation of the international community.

The opponents demand in particular the release of people they consider to be political prisoners (including former President Ahmed Abdallah Mohamed Sambi), and the revision of the composition of the organizations in charge elections.
