In WoW you can learn a new language for the first time – and nobody understands you

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

The furbolg language is quite complex – but you can learn it in World of Warcraft in a very short time and then let your character use it.

The latest World of Warcraft patch has brought numerous small innovations that many players overlook at first glance. One detail is the possibility of learning a whole new language, namely that of the furbolgs.

The cool thing about it: Not only can you understand the language, you can also speak it yourself. It can then only be understood by other characters who also know the furbolg language.

Learn Furbolg – This is how you become exalted with the winter furs

How do you unlock the language? If you also want to speak Furbolg, you have to complete a new quest line.

The quest begins with a letter from Sonova Snowden, which you can retrieve from your mailbox.

Important: Sonova will only send you the letter if you have completed the two quest lines “Rustpine Den” and “Winterfur Den”. These two quest lines were already in the game when Dragonflight was launched. You can check if you’ve defeated them in the “Visitors of the Azure Mountains” achievement.

As soon as this is done, a short time later you will receive the letter in the mail, which once again sends you to Sonova Snowden. Complete three small introductory quests and then you can repeatedly hand in artifacts to Sonova to increase your language knowledge.

Sonova Snowden needs your help. You can find him at coordinates 67 / 13 in the Azure Mountains.

How to improve language knowledge? In order to increase language knowledge from level 1 to 500, you must now farm Recovered Furbol Garden Artifacts. You can give 5 of them to Sonova Snowden for one knowledge point. So to go from skill 0 to 100, you need to collect a total of 500 Recovered Furbol Garden Artifacts.

But don’t worry: If you think back to the reputation grind of the Timbermaw furbolgs in vanilla, you are far from reality. To become awed by the winter furs or fully master the language, you only need to plan 60 to 90 minutes. If you already have a well-equipped character, it will probably be even faster.

What’s the best way to farm? For the quickest way to collect “Recover Furbolgarte Artifacts”, travel to the Azure Mountains at coordinates 78 / 40. You will find numerous elite opponents here. Ignore the large fire elementals and behemoths, instead target the smaller Tarasek. These have almost 500,000 lives, but drop 2-8 artifacts each time and also have a chance to leave behind an “Intact Scriber’s Stick”.

Here is the perfect farm spot.

The scribe’s stick can also be turned in for learning the language and grants a point in language proficiency. So a scribe’s staff is worth exactly the same as 5 artifacts.

How do you pronounce furbolg? If you want to speak the new language, you must select it in the chat window. To do this, click on the small speech bubble, select “Language” with the cursor below and select Furbolg.

Note that you can only use the language in /say (/say) and /yell (/yell). Incidentally, while you are in a group, the language is always switched automatically so that all group members can understand each other.

Are there other rewards? Yes, there are. In order to obtain them, you must complete the other quests that you receive from Sonova Snowden and the Furbolgs. You unlock them for every 25 language skills—so at 25, 50, 75, and 100. Rewards include toys such as transforming into a furbolg, a large snow globe to hide under, and goggles to watch the whole game looks blurry.

The quests are all quite short and usually only consist of two or three tasks. If you complete the missions, you will also become awed by the winter furs and can also shop at their reputation dealers.

Have you learned Furbolg yet? Will you ever use the language?
