Neighbors were woken up by loud screams and saw police with guns drawn arresting a 19-year-old bloodied man outside a villa in Luleå on the morning of March 9. When the police and ambulance entered the home, the young man’s brother and mother were found dead. According to information to TV4 Nyheterna, they had been stabbed to death. The father was also in the home but managed to escape the attack and call 112, as TV4 Nyheterna previously reported. – The father in the family is a witness to parts of the sequence of events and himself a plaintiff for a grossly illegal threat, says chamber prosecutor Åsa Valter. Told in police interrogation, the 19-year-old confesses to double murder and is in custody. New information is now emerging about the violent sequence of events. Sources tell TV4 Nyheterna that the 19-year-old told about the crime during questioning and gave explanations. He then also allegedly said that he stabbed the mother first. When his brother tried to help the mother, the brother himself was stabbed to death. Treated for mental illness The 19-year-old has had a documented history of mental illness for some time, which TV4 Nyheterna was previously able to tell. He must have been medicated for it by the healthcare system. According to the same information, the police are working on the theory that the background to the crime is linked to mental illness.
