dirt bike stolen
A dirt bike was stolen from a locked barn at a West Quarter Line Road, Walsingham address, Norfolk OPP say.
Provincial police were alerted to the theft at about 12:14 pm March 18. The bike is a 2004 Suzuki RMZ 250cc four stroke dirt bike worth about $3,400.
Extortion
Norfolk OPP are again reminding residents not to share explicit photographs online following a recent investigation.
Provincial police went to a Norfolk County address just before midnight on March 19. Officers learned a male had shared explicit photos of himself with a female he had met on a social media site.
The female then threatened to distribute the photographs to all of the male’s friends, family and social media contacts if money wasn’t sent to her.
“Police are urging all computer users to be aware of the dangers of engaging in online web chats where explicit conversations and photographs are shared,” Const. Ed Sanchuk, of the Norfolk County OPP, said. “Once it’s out there, you can’t get it back.”
Everyone using a computer needs to be aware, Sanchuk said.
“We live in a connected world where it’s easy to feel as if our far-away friends are right next door.” Sanchuk said. “Having a face-to-face conversation with someone is gaining in popularity and everyone needs to be vigilant when engaging in any on-line chats.”
