SNCF STRIKE 23 MARCH. The direction of the SNCF has just revealed the disruptions of the main lines (TGV, Intercités) and regional (TER) trains for the day of Thursday March 23, umpteenth act of strike against the pension reform.
[Mis à jour le 22 mars 2023 à 15h28] This Thursday, March 23 will be a black day on the rails of the SNCF. The management of the railway company has just revealed the disruptions on the main lines: one out of two TGVs will only be in circulation and there will be almost no traffic assured on the Intercités, apart from two round trips Paris-Clermont and Paris-Brive! In the regions, only one in three TER will be in circulation.
“SNCF Voyageurs invites travelers who can to cancel or postpone their trips scheduled for Thursday March 23,” added SNCF. In addition, it already announces on its official website that “traffic will remain disrupted on Friday March 24”. Indeed, the inter-union of the SNCF has called for a renewable strike since March 7.
With the use of article 49.3 by the government to have the pension reform adopted, the inter-union made up of GT-Cheminots, Unsa-Ferroviaire, SUD-Rail and CFDT-Cheminots encourages SNCF agents to “act massively on March 23”. “Social protest must grow and expand”, announced in a communicated the CGT, considering this act of the government as “yet another arm of honor to the social movement”.
The SNCF specified that the TGV and Intercités travelers concerned by the cancellation of their train have already been contacted by email or SMS in order to exchange their ticket free of charge or to cancel their ticket with full refund. Here are the detailed SNCF traffic forecasts for March 23:
