Jonna Sundling was once again defeated by Norwegian Kristine Stavås Skistad.
After the race, the Swede vented her great disappointment – and unexpectedly received approval.

During the World Cup sprint in Tallinn, the Swedish hope led for a long time Jonna Sundling the final and got a small lead. But it then took the Norwegian rival Kristine Stavå’s Ski City quickly caught up and on the run she was again strong.
Sundling bitter
After a solid sprint duel, Stavås Skistad managed to defeat Sundling once again in the World Cup. It was the third straight time after the World Ski Championships that the Norwegian managed to beat the Swede in the sprint.

Immediately after the race, Sundling was of course extremely disappointed and also accused the Norwegian.
– Shit, I would have liked it, but the race was not flawless and there is a lot I take with me. I’m probably not the only one who wants to beat Skistad. We had a contact on the run and that was the fault and I’m allowed to be a little angry, says Sunding afterwards.

The Norwegian answer
There was close contact between the skis of the competitors, and Jonna Sundling actually gets unexpected approval from Norway after a bitter second place on Tuesday evening.
– I understand that Sundling is a little annoyed at Skistad and the jury will probably look at this, says the Norwegian commentator Jan Post in NRK.

Stavås Skistad really has an advantage over Sundling now before the end of the season after three consecutive sprint victories.
– It was fun to compete in front of so many people. I am so happy to have defeated Jonna again, says the Norwegian winner in Viaplay’s broadcast.

In the fight for the overall sprint cup unfortunately lost Maja Dahlqvist up to the leader Nadine Fähndrich. As the Swede already went out in the semi-finals and is now 22 points behind in second place before the end of the season in Lahtis.
– I must ride incredibly well next weekend if I want to win, says a revenge-hungry Dahlqvist after the race.
