The Brantford woman charged with fraud and sexual assaults of numerous doulas in Southwestern Ontario remains in jail.
Kaitlyn Braun, 24, faces 10 charges of criminal harassment, 12 charges of false pretenses, four counts of fraud, three counts of sexual assault and three counts of committing an indecent act.
Wearing the green uniform associated with the Vanier Center for Women, Braun was seen briefly in video court Tuesday morning where her matter was, once again, put over.
She’ll return March 23, 10 days after she was first arrested on March 13.
The lead investigator on the case has received “a flood of calls and emails related to potential victims,” a Brantford Police spokesperson told The Expositor.
The investigation currently involves a potential 10 alleged victims, many of whom began communicating and sharing information about Braun on TikTok. Police said they will update the case if there are additional charges to be laid.
Braun stands accused of duping doulas – women trained and registered to support women through labor – into helping her through a false birthing process.
The charges against her have not been proven.
One doula aware of what is alleged to have transpired with several of her colleagues, said they are left “feeling taken advantage of, traumatized and feeling – just gross.”
