The Carita beauty house welcomes Lanvin dresses for an unprecedented

Until Friday March 24, 2023, Lanvin’s most iconic dresses will be exhibited during an installation-event created by the Maison de Beauté Carita. A unique appointment that should not be missed.

It is in its historic stronghold, rue du faubourg saint honoré, which has just been renovated, that Carita welcomes the Lanvin fashion house for an unprecedented exhibition that honors and celebrates the long-standing friendship between the two luxury brands.

Why visit this exhibition which links the world of beauty and fashion?

Carita adorns herself with dresses from the Lanvin house and exhibits them in her temple of beauty. In a post-contemporary installation, we discover the most beautiful creations of Lanvin, where the colors vary from the softest to the most flashy.

The exhibition presents a range of 11 dresses including the “charmeuses” from the collections from 2020 to 2023. As soon as we arrive, the gaze is caught by the majestic staircase where arches are embedded. Along the entire height of the wall, in huge alcoves, mannequins with calligraphic faces wear the creations of the Lanvin house. To bring movement to the silhouettes, discreet fans are placed under the dresses. Upstairs, near the Café-Restaurant de la Maison de beauté, there are also Lanvin’s emblematic handbags.

More than an exhibition, it is a show designed as an ode to femininity. The installation-event reflects the encounter between the world of beauty and that of fashion. And for the occasion, a tea time is offered by the Rosy restaurant of the Carita house.

Carita and Lanvin, a friendship sealed for more than 70 years

It was in the rue du Faubourg Saint Honoré that the great friendship between the two houses was born. At number 11, the Carita cosmetics house – founded by the sisters Maria and Rosy Carita – seduced the most famous Parisiennes of the 1960s, from Joséphine Baker to Catherine Deneuve, just like Lanvin, directed at the time by the artistic director Antonio Canovas del Castillo, installed a little further down this same street. It was, moreover, in 1952 during the inauguration of the Maison de beauté that a spectacular “haute-coiffure” show sealed the friendship between Carita and Lanvin forever.
