Founded in 1519 by the Spaniards, the Cuban capital is today a metropolis of two million inhabitants with an intense cultural life between its many museums, art galleries and musical bars. Its historic district, La Havana Vieja, preserves a splendid colonial heritage, the whole of which is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
