A 20-year-old woman and an 18-year-old woman are charged with the murder of 21-year-old Tove. Defense lawyer Leif Silbersky does not think that the prosecution holds up in regard to the 18-year-old woman. – It would cause a huge stir if this evidence leads to a conviction on the murder charge. Last Friday, the indictment came against the two young women who were suspected of murdering Tove. According to the prosecutor, the 18-year-old and the 20-year-old allegedly strangled her to death and then dumped the body. They are said to have moved and hidden the body and then tried to set it on fire and are therefore also charged with breach of burial peace. Tove was reported missing on 16 October 2022 after a night out in Vetlanda. The following day, the two women were arrested and detained. They have for a long time in custody denied any crime, but in January the 20-year-old began to tell about the incident. She then said that it was an accident that Tove died and that she then panicked and decided to hide the body. A few weeks later, the 18-year-old also admitted that she had moved Tove’s body. Believes that the 18-year-old will be acquitted Defense lawyer Leif Silbersky has many years of experience in the law and he does not believe that the evidence is sufficient to convict the 18-year-old woman of murder. However, he does not think there are any uncertainties regarding the 20-year-old. – The way I see it, the prosecution will carry home when it comes to the 20-year-old. But in the case of the 18-year-old, there is no chance that the prosecution will hold up in the way the prosecutor has laid it out. – There is nothing, and now I emphasize nothing, that binds the 18-year-old to have had any physical contact in connection with the murder. Then I think of DNA, skin scrapings and other evidence. Therefore, my view is that it will lead to an acquittal, he continues. “The 20-year-old has painted himself in” Leif Silbersky also emphasizes that he is only starting from the written case and that it can change according to what emerges during the trial. – The 20-year-old has painted herself into a situation that makes it incredibly difficult for the lawyer who will defend her to come to anything other than that they should work for a light penalty. – As for the 18-year-old, in my world it would cause a huge sensation if this evidence against her leads to a conviction on the murder charge.
