At least 15 dead after earthquake in Ecuador

At least 15 people have died in a strong earthquake that hit southern Ecuador and northern Peru on Saturday.

Rescue services are working to pull out people who are stuck under rubble. 126 people have been injured and at least 14 people have died in Ecuador, according to the authorities. A four-year-old girl is among the victims in Peru, says the country’s Prime Minister Alberto Otárola.

According to the United States Geological Survey USGS, the earthquake had a magnitude of 6.8.
