“Due to the high risk of public order disturbances, all gatherings on the public thoroughfare of the Place de la Concorde and its surroundings, as well as in the area around the Champs-Élysées, are prohibited,” the Paris police announced on Saturday.
The capital’s police announced earlier in the day that 61 people at the Place de la Concorde were arrested on Friday evening, writes Le Monde. In Lyon, 36 people have been arrested, local authorities reported on Twitter just after midnight.
