Magic: The Gathering has released a number of cards that have sold for thousands of dollars. In June, the hunt begins for the rarest Magic card of all time. Fans are already trying to secure the ticket.
What is this card? The trading card game Magic: The Gathering keeps coming up with new tricks to keep the players’ passion for collecting alive even after 30 years. For the upcoming crossover with the Lord of the Rings universe, they have come up with something very special.
A card should only be printed once. This would make the “One Ring” a highlight of any collection. It goes without saying that collectors will spare no expense or effort to secure the rare card.

$100,000 if you can keep a secret
What is this offer? Noted collector Dan Bock put a $100,000 bounty on the unique card’s bounty on a Facebook group dedicated to upscale Magic card trading and trading. Alternatively, he offers to beat the highest legitimate offer.
The collector provides this condition: However, Bock has one condition for the deal to go through: the lucky finder who gets hold of the ring must not tell anyone about it. Only after the purchase has taken place may it be reported on.
In an edited version of the original post, the collector clarified that he doesn’t want to take the credit for finding the card: once the purchase is complete, the finder can boast of their booster luck. For him, it’s not about being the person who opened the crucial pack.
Collector didn’t want the card to be sold too cheaply
What’s behind it? The US site Dexerto spoke to Dan Bock about the bounty he posted. The collector explained that he had already seen some other offers for the card, but found them too low.
He feared that unscrupulous collectors could take advantage of an unsuspecting lucky guy. The $100,000 is just a starting price to “get people talking”.
Despite the supposedly good intentions of the collector, Dan Bock’s offer was not well received by everyone. Many fans say that the advertised prize money is still too low and Bock would try to buy the card under value himself.
Others seem to care less about the monetary value, they would probably just keep the card because it is a special collector’s item.
Bock himself says he does not rule out an increase in his original offer. However, he has not yet seen a higher price. However, it is quite possible that collectors will outbid each other for a while before the release in June. After all, completely different prices were paid for MTG cards:
