Henrik Lundqvist is one of Swedish hockey’s biggest icons.
Now an old teammate reveals what “Henke” always did in the shower after a loss.
– There were a lot of emotions, admits Lundqvist himself.
When the Swedish Ice Hockey Association held the Hockey Gala of the Times to celebrate 100 years in November 2022, it was celebrated Henrik Lundqvist large. The former NHL star goalkeeper was named both Sweden’s best goalkeeper ever and took a place in Swedish hockey’s All Star team.
Lundqvist’s career
With every right as he is called “King Henrik” in New York and has had an absolutely brilliant hockey career with many, many years at the absolute top of the world. Lundqvist has won both Olympic gold, World Cup gold and double World Championship gold over the years and guarded the coffers for the New York Rangers’ coffers for 15 straight seasons.

At the beginning of 2022, the Swede also had his jersey number 30 raised to the roof of Madison Square Garden. But “Henke” could also have a really hot temper when the big winner was forced to take a loss.

Henke in the shower
Nowadays, Lundqvist works as a TV expert for the American channel TNT and last night an old Rangers teammate reached out to reveal what Henrik Lundqvist always did after a loss in the NHL.
– Henke, I received a text message from an old teammate of yours, Keith Yandle. He tells you that you always used to take out all your frustration on the soap bottle in the shower. “I used to say a prayer that he wouldn’t break his hand,” says the TNT host, reading the text message.

Henrik Lundqvist glorifies nothing and fully admits it.
– Yes, it was. It was “smash time”, he says, showing with his whole hand how he used to do it, see the video below.
– The guys used to just say: “Oh, jeez.” Now he’s angry in there.”

– But not the shampoo bottle, right?, asks a colleague jokingly.
– No no, just the soap, replies Henke and explains further:
– There was a lot of emotion, I played with a lot of emotion.
