The theme of the 2023 edition is “Manage your money, sow your future” (“Plan your money, plant your future”), to underline the link between planning one’s finances and one’s future, also in relation to the challenges of environmental and social sustainability.

For the occasion, FLITIN (“Financial Literacy International Network”) organized the March 23rd the final of the initiative Money Master Challengean international contest that involved some schools from seven countries – Moldavia, Croatia, Slovakia, Hungary, Albania, Romania, Egypt – with the aim of making students aware of middle School on basic financial literacy, in a fun way. After an initial national qualification, which involved 68 classes for a total of 1,500 students, the finalist schools of each country will compete simultaneously in a final challenging quiz on trivia related to money and savings. The winning class will be able to enjoy a cultural experience in their own country offered by the Bank.

This is the second initiative of the international network, launched last October, with the aim of spreading financial education in Italy and in the various countries where the Intesa Sanpaolo International Subsidiary Banks Division is present: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Egypt, Moldavia, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Ukraine and Hungary. An international network that aims to share knowledge, skills, methodologies, tools, resources and experiences in the field of financial education, with one great goal: to increase the level of economic and financial literacy of citizens, with high quality standards and according to OECD guidelines.

The Savings Museum of Intesa Sanpaolo has also organized two interesting initiatives for schools: on 22 March the interactive lesson “From money to the current account” in which lower secondary school students, through animated videos, surveys and word clouds, will be a journey from the origins of money to the birth of the current account. Curiosity, ancient legends and “impossible” interviews will allow you to discover how money was born and how it has evolved over the course of different historical periods, and to learn important concepts for the daily management of money. The meeting will end with a fun quiz challenge between the participating classes.

For the primary schools, on the other hand, the online event “The wonderful world of For and Mica between pennies and piggy banks” is scheduled for 24 March in which the museum mascots, the ants For and Mica, will tell children historical curiosities about the piggy bank, an iconic savings object , and will explain some important concepts for the daily management of money. The lesson will be animated with quizzes, videos and small exercises to be carried out in class.
