Shadow monsters and flying ships rule Shadow and Bone Season 2

Tomorrow, on Thursday March 16, 2023 the wait for fantasy fans is over: Netflix released all 8 episodes of the 2nd season of Shadow and Bone – Legends of Grisha. In Season 1, Shadow and Bone opened up an extraordinary fantasy world. This time the fate of an entire country is at stake. But how are the heroes supposed to fight the shadows that threaten to engulf their homeland?

Netflix’s Season 2 Shadow and Bone unleashes fantasy warfare and hunts for mythical beasts

We remember (Spoilers for season 1): In the first 8 episodes of Shadow and Bone, Alina (Jessie Mei Li) discovered her extraordinary ability to direct light. Even in a land like Ravka, populated by mages (called Grisha), this is unique. The Tsar’s shadow commanding general, Kirigan (Ben Barnes), took her under his wing. For the first time there was hope to erase from the map the monster-infested wall of the “Shadow Hall” that had divided and damaged the realm for centuries.

But Kirigan secretly had other plans and tried to control Alina with the “power multiplier” of a mythical deer antler. He didn’t want to destroy the dark corridor of shadows, he wanted to make it his weapon. However, with the help of tracker Mal (Archie Renaux) and the gang of thieves the crows, Alina was able to escape and Season 2 follows on from that.

As already shown in the last scene of Season 1 Shadow and Bone, Kirigan survived the fight in the finale. In season 2, he brings his dark power to full use: his newly created shadow creatures (“Nichevo’ya”) seem to be invincible and the shadow corridor begins to engulf parts of the land.

This is not hidden from Alina and Mal on their escape. But um Defeat Kirigan and destroy the Shadow Floor once and for all, the Sun Warrior needs two more Power Multipliers from the Bonesmith Morozova. The deer antlers on Alina’s collarbone are only complete in combination with the sea dragon called “Sea Scourge” and the firebird. So in Season 2 they begin their hunt for the legendary creatures.

Alina and Mal are not alone in their battle against the Darkling in Season 2. Also Kaz Brekkers (Freddy Carter) criminal gang of crows, including Sagittarius Jesper (Kit Young) and Assassin Inej (Amita Suman), do their part again. This time together with Entherzerin Nina (Danielle Galligan), who wants to free her beloved witch hunter Matthias (Calahan Skogman) from prison.
