Niinistö: Expects Turkey’s support at the NATO meeting

The Public Health Authority has decided that covid-19 no longer requires infection tracking in businesses that care for or take care of people with a high risk of becoming seriously ill from the virus. The authority announces this on its website.
The responsibility for assessing the need for infection tracing is transferred instead to health and care activities in municipalities and regions.
– By removing the infection tracing obligation for covid-19, we now enable the businesses to prioritize resources for cases where they judge that infection tracing has an effect regardless of the cause, says Erik Sturegård, expert doctor at the Public Health Agency.

Man trapped under truck
A man has been injured in connection with being crushed under a truck at a workplace in Ljusdal municipality.
The man must have been awake when the police and medical services arrived at the scene.
He has now been taken to hospital by ambulance helicopter.
The police will investigate the incident as a workplace accident.
Man detained for human smuggling via ferry
A man in his 30s is suspected of having smuggled 49 people from Central Asia into Sweden via the Polen ferry to Verköhamnen in Karlskrona, reports SVT News.
The man was arrested at customs in December after a person, who does not have the right to stay in Sweden, was discovered in the man’s car. The police were able to connect two more people, who were suspected of having been smuggled into Sweden by the man, on the arriving ferry
The man is suspected of having brought people into Sweden via the ferry on at least 12 occasions, but where they went after arriving in Karlskrona is not clear.
The prosecutor in the case suspects that the man was paid for the trips and has now asked for help from authorities in Poland and the Czech Republic, where the man was previously shown. The man denies any wrongdoing.
Police checked Polish supporters
The police are stepping up ahead of tomorrow’s match between Djurgården and the Polish team Lech Poznań at Tele 2 Arena.
Among other things, the police suspect that it may get rowdy during the match.
But already today, a number of Polish supporters have come to Sweden. Several of them arrived on a flight this morning and then the police were alerted that it had been turbulent at Arlanda.
