The first pictures of Google Pixel 8 and Google Pixel 8 Pro just leaked. Although these two new smartphones are not expected before the end of the year, their design already seems to be in the hands of some specialized leakers.

It was @OnLeaks on the social network Twitter that unveiled the first images of the future Google Pixel 8 Pro. This leak specialist seems to have the very first renderings of the next smartphone from Google. Unsurprisingly, these are still inspired by the design of the previous Pixel 7, but seem to add a LiDAR sensor to the photo block of the Google Pixel 8 Pro.

If Apple, Samsung and Xiaomi have already released their high-end smartphones, it is not yet the case of Google which is rather expected for the month of October. The previous Pixel 6 and 7 were notably released on October 28, 2021 and October 13, 2022 respectively. Which processor will equip the Google Pixel 8 and Google Pixel 8 Pro?

The first notable novelty that the Google Pixel 8 and Google Pixel 8 Pro should have would be in the processor of the two smartphones. It’s a safe bet that Google will equip its next products with a new chip. After the Google Tensor for the Pixel 6 and the Google Tensor G2 for the Pixel 7, we bet that the future phone of the firm will havea Google Tensor G3 chipalthough nothing has been officially confirmed yet.

The in-house chips that equip the Google Pixel are not the most powerful on the market. However, they have an undeniable asset: their software processing algorithm. The photographs on the Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro are therefore likely to be of high quality for the price offered on these two devices.

What will the design of the Google Pixel 8 and Google Pixel 8 Pro be?

The design of the new Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro seems to be inspired by the manufacturers’ previous smartphones. Pixel phones have benefited from a very strong identity since the release of the 6th model in 2021. If the first leaks are confirmed, it is likely that the firm will continue this momentum by offering few changes for its new Pixel 8.

Will the Google Pixel 8 take good photos?

Although we don’t yet have official information on the sensors that will equip the Google Pixel 8, it’s a safe bet that the smartphone will once again focus on photography. Google has become a serious competitor in the field, in particular thanks to its in-house chips capable of overshadowing high-end smartphones like theiPhone. We should therefore not expect incredible specificities for the sensors of the Google Pixel 8, but look at the software processing side of the phone.

What will be new in the Google Pixel 8 Pro?

If Google continues on its path initiated a few years ago, the manufacturer should unveil a new Google Pixel 8 Pro in the coming months. This upgraded version of their flagship phone usually has a few improvements over the base model.

We must first expect to find a curved screen on the Google Pixel 8 Pro. This is the biggest design difference from the base model. The other interesting addition is a third photo sensor dedicated to optical zoom. The latter allows the Pixel Pro to take better quality shots at a longer distance, and should again be present on the Google Pixel 8 Pro.

On the power side, if the Google Pixel 8 Pro should have the same chip as the basic model, it is possible that Google will add more RAM. The previous generation of Google Pixel notably had 8 GB of RAM for the basic version, and 12 GB of RAM for the Pro model.

At what price will the Google Pixel 8 and Google Pixel 8 Pro be available?

Google surprised its users last year by unveiling its latest smartphones at the same prices as the previous generation. In an uncertain economic context with the phenomenon of inflation, many manufacturers have been forced to increase the prices of their latest smartphones. However, we will have to wait a few months to discover the official prices of the Google Pixel 8 and Google Pixel 8 Pro.

As a reminder, here are the prices for the Google Pixel 7 and 7 Pro when they were released last October. Google could therefore take the same prices for its next Pixel 8 and 8 Pro smartphones:

  • Google Pixel 7: from €649.
  • Google Pixel 7 Pro: from €899.

What is the release date of the Google Pixel 8 and Google Pixel 8 Professional?

No official information can establish a precise release date for the Google Pixel 8 and its Pro version. However, Google has accustomed us to unveiling its new smartphones in October. It would therefore be logical to wait a few more months to finally discover the future Google Pixel 8 and Google Pixel 8 Pro at the end of the year.

Google’s next major conference, dubbed Google I/O, will be held on May 10. If the manufacturer should reveal the new features behind Android 14 there, it is also possible that we can see a teasing of the next Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro. Other products like the Pixel 7a or the potential Google Pixel Fold phone are also highly anticipated.

However, it is not certain that the Google Pixel 8 and Google Pixel 8 Pro will be presented during the Google I/O. The conference in question could well eclipse the subject and send us back to the end of the year to have real information on the next smartphones from Google.
