Response Koninklijke Horeca Nederland (KHN)
“We have received some signals about catering entrepreneurs requesting an energy contribution from their guests, but not recently,” says a spokesman for KHN. “And we have no figures for this. Guests understand the dilemma and are happy that it does not concern structural increases.”
“Of course, an entrepreneur is free in his pricing and structure, especially if the guest is clearly informed in advance. Airlines also apply a fuel surcharge if necessary. A surcharge can be temporary and the duration and size of the higher energy prices are not fixed. KHN underlines that it is especially important that a guest knows in advance where he/she stands.”
