At the end of January – almost out of nowhere – the MMORPG The Quinfall was announced. That looked beautiful in the first trailer and promised shipping, breeding your own mounts, housing and much more. Now the developers have revealed many new details in an interview – and it still sounds really good.
What kind of game is this? The Quinfall sounds like an MMORPG that a hell of a lot of gamers want. It promises a lot of freedom, including the possibility of owning taverns or shops. In addition, there should be dungeons and huge boss fights for PvE players and PvP players can compete in large battles for fortresses.
This is garnished with action combat, nice graphics thanks to Unreal Engine 5 and NVIDIA RTX and a dynamic weather system similar to Throne and Liberty.
But the first impression made many skeptical. For an indie developer who has only existed since 2021, that sounded far too ambitious. In an interview with MMO13, new details have now been revealed that support the previous statements and even add further highlights.
You can watch the first trailer of The Quinfall here:
No classes, pure PvE servers and lots of exploration
What do we know about character creation? The Quinfall should get a detailed character editor. However, as a race you will only be able to play as humans. However, you can also make them particularly old or thick. However, these visual settings do not affect your character’s strength.
The MMORPG dispenses with fixed classes and instead relies on 9 different weapons.
What was revealed about PvE? Basically, The Quinfall should get separate servers for PvE and PvP players. You should be safe on PvE servers, but on PvP servers you can fight other players directly in the open world. The MMORPG relies on a channel system like Black Desert. So you will be able to switch freely between PvE and PvP servers with each character.
For PvE players there should be dungeons and heavy world bosses. The boss fights should get mechanics that force players to “develop different strategies”. However, the exact size of the groups could not be revealed.
Otherwise you can follow a story that revolves around the Dragonborn gods Greis and Kreas.
An important aspect should be exploring the open world, which completely dispenses with loading screens. So there should be hidden puzzles and treasures, some of them underwater. So swimming will be possible.
Otherwise, the game relies on crafting with different professions, direct trade between players via their own shops and housing, which will be possible in certain safe zones. There will also be a card game to pass the time.
What was revealed about PvP? In the fights in the open world you should die, but you don’t lose any equipment. In addition, large battles for fortresses are planned, about which more will be revealed in an upcoming dev diary.
What do we know about server technology? Exact details were not revealed, but the developers emphasize that they plan with “a very high number of players on one server”. So The Quinfall should be able to beat the 2,500 players in New World.
The Quinfall is in Alpha, will Buy2Play
What’s the status of the game? The studio currently has 56 employees working on The Quinfall. However, further developers are already being sought. Most are said to have previously worked on the Kayra Online project.
The game is said to be finished in many moves and is currently in alpha status. A closed beta is also planned. You can register on the official website (via Quinfall).
How is the game monetized? The Quinfall is set to become Buy2Play, along with a shop. However, there should be no demo or trial version. If you want to start the game, you have to pay initially.
What do you think of The Quinfall? Does the MMORPG appeal to you? Feel free to write it in the comments.
However, if you don’t want to wait until The Quinfall is released, you can look forward to 7 new MMORPGs this year:
