Chatham-Kent police responded to a vehicle being stuck on the rail tracks in Chatham on Saturday.
While driving on William Street South, a 27-year-old woman mistook the tracks for a road and turned onto them, becoming stuck, police said.
Officers responded to remove the vehicle and believed the driver to be intoxicated by alcohol. She was taken to headquarters and provided breath samples allegedly exceeding the legal limit.
The accused was charged with impaired driving and having over 80 mg of alcohol. She was released with a short date.
Crash leads to charges
On Saturday, police were dispatched to a single-vehicle collision in Chatham Township.
The driver, a 32-year-old Chatham man, was believed to be intoxicated by alcohol by responding officers. He was taken to headquarters, where he provided breath samples allegedly in excess of the limit.
He was charged with impaired driving and having over 80 mg of alcohol. He was released with a short date.
