The artists enter the Friends arena to flags and brass music. This year’s finalists in Melodifestivalen are presented by Sami Rekik from Medina, who last year had success and ended up third with the contribution “In i dimman”.

There is a clear advance favourite. Loreen, who when Melodifestivalklubben asked the audience during Friday’s rehearsal, received 36 percent of the votes. Even the betting companies have agreed that Loreen will win the Melodifestivalen this year. The odds are at 1.03, which in this context can be considered unusually low.
Loreen’s contribution “Tattoo” already has over 8 million plays on Spotify, while Smash Into Pieces’ “Six feet under” has 2.6 and Marcus & Martinu’s “Air” has 2 million listens.
“The winner’s place is clear”
In second place in Friday’s audience poll, Theoz came with 16.4 percent of the vote. Even though he has strong support from the audience, he also believes in Loreen as the winner.
— It was my goal to make it to the final, but I think it’s pretty clear who will take first place. I’ll just do my best and we’ll see. It’s a lot of emotions and nerves, but I’m most excited, he says.
Last year, Theoz managed to charm his way all the way to the final with “Som du vill”. There he finished in seventh place and the goal this year is a better placement.
— I’m just really happy to be in the final so I wouldn’t be disappointed no matter what position I would get. A small goal I have is to try to get further than last year. But I’m just really grateful to be in the final and to have the chance to be in it again.
“Cool”
For 21-year-old Adam Woods, the partial competition in Gothenburg was the first time he stood on a stage at all. Now he tells us that together with Jon Henrik Fjällgren and his DJ friend Arc North, he did a couple of gigs in the weeks that have passed since then.
— It’s awesome to go from first an arena with 10,000 and then an arena with 50,000. When you stand up there again, it’s like everything falls into place, like you’re in the same place just a little bigger, he says.
TT: How much do you want to progress to the Eurovision Song Contest?
– It is clear that it would have been great to see what it is like and together with you, says Jon Henrik Fjällgren.
“It would have been a nice end to your entire Melodifestival journey,” says Arc North, referring to Fjällgren saying that this year’s competition will be his last.
Great support from the Swedish audience
Marcus and Martinus have also gone on to become crowd favourites. Ahead of the final, they felt a certain nervousness – but also great audience support.
— We have heard so many positive things and were so happy when we went straight to the final. We didn’t know what to expect from the Swedish audience, so it’s great that they have supported us all the way, says Marcus Gunnarsen.
Although Loreen is the big favorite, the Norwegian duo does not want to charge anything in advance.
— You obviously have chances, it’s a competition and anything is possible. The most important thing is that people sit with a good feeling after seeing us, says Marcus Gunnarsen.
— We want to go to Eurovision, everyone here wants that. But everyone is very talented, adds Martinus Gunnarsen.
