Security staff at the airports in Berlin, Bremen, Hamburg and Hannover are going on strike on Monday, TT reports.

351 departures are canceled and around 100,000 travelers are affected.

“In addition to canceled departures, you can expect longer time in the queue,” writes the trade union Verdi in a statement.

The union demands higher wages and better conditions for working inconvenient working hours.

A similar one-day strike was carried out in February. Around 300,000 travelers were then affected.

  • Person has walked through the ice

    A person has walked through the ice in Simlångsdalen in Halmstad municipality, writes Hallandsposten.

    The person has been taken to hospital by helicopter. It is unclear how seriously injured he is.

    Emergency services and an ambulance were called to the scene shortly before 5 p.m. They pulled the person out of the water and then started CPR.

    Another person who was at the scene tried to help the person in the water.

  • Was looking for truffles in Syria – was killed by IS

    Three people who were looking for truffles are suspected of having been killed and 26 other civilians kidnapped by the IS terrorist movement in northern Syria, TT reports.

    The data comes from the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), which monitors the Syrian war from Britain.

    According to SOHR, armed men, probably connected to IS cells, should have killed the three people in the desert southeast of Aleppo. The attack was carried out near positions controlled by pro-Iranian forces.

    Every year, between February and April, hundreds of impoverished Syrians search for truffles in the vast Syrian desert – a known hideout for jihadists and also full of landmines.

  • Snorkel mask recalled – may suffocate user

    JO Sport AB is recalling a snorkel mask as it has not been investigated whether it can ventilate carbon dioxide well enough. If the ventilation does not work, the user may become unconscious and drown, writes The Swedish Consumer Agency on its website.

    The snorkel mask is called “Murena Full Face Snorkel Mask” and is incorrectly CE marked. The labeling should not actually exist until all the relevant tests have been done.

    The part numbers affected are MU311-12300-BLACK, MU311-12300-LBLUE, MU311-12301-BLACK and MU311-12301-LBLUE.

    The JO Sport company urges everyone who purchased the mask to stop using it immediately and return it to the retailer for a full refund.

  • Drove from police – arrested after police dog chase

    In Västerås, a driver drives a passenger car away from police who are supposed to check the car.

    The police take up the pursuit of the fleeing car. Shortly afterwards, the car stops and two men flee on foot.

    They are detained with the help of a police dog.

    The suspicions relate to drugged driving and illegal driving. One of the men is taken for sampling, the other is released.

  • Migrants rescued in the Mediterranean

    During Saturday, more than 1,200 migrants were rescued off the coast of Italy, TT reports.

    The information comes from the country’s coast guard, which began a rescue operation on Friday.

    Three boats lying adrift had been seen to the south of the town of Crotone and two others off the Roccella Ionica.

    There is no information about missing or injured persons.

    Earlier this year, migrants died at sea off Calabria and harsh criticism was directed at Italy’s government.

  • SMHI issues new snow warnings

    Up to 20 centimeters of snow and wind are now expected in parts of Svealand, according to SMHI, TT writes. A snow warning is issued from Monday morning until around 11 pm.

    Stockholm, Uppsala county, Dalarna and northernmost Värmland are affected by the snowfall.

    In the west and east, up to 15 centimeters of snow is expected locally. Northernmost Värmland and large parts of Dalarna can expect even more – SMHI writes that up to 20 centimeters can fall.

    The snowfall is expected to subside overnight until Tuesday.

  • Ukraine: Russia replaces Wagner soldiers

    The soldiers of the Wagner group are exchanged for soldiers from the Russian army.

    This is according to a spokesperson for the Ukrainian army, Serhiy Cherevatyj to CNN.

    – We see how the Wagner group is replaced by the regular Russian army. It is probably due to Prigozhin’s conflict with the leadership of the Russian army, he tells the channel.

    Prigozhin has openly criticized the Kremlin and accused Russia of not providing the group with supplies, saying it is refusing to send ammunition to the group’s soldiers in Bakhmut, among other things.

  • Johns Hopkins stops covid reporting

    Johns Hopkins University stops updating its covid statistics on an ongoing basis.

    “After three years of round-the-clock reporting of covid-19 data from around the world, Johns Hopkins has suspended the operations of the Corona Resource Center,” the university writes at the top of its website, where it was possible to follow the progress of the coronavirus.

    The number of confirmed deaths from covid has remained at 6,881,955 people on the university’s website.
