Drugs, guns and other weapons were seized by Six Nations Police and eight people were arrested during a raid on three homes and a business last week.

Officers from Six Nations had been engaged in an ongoing investigation and used search warrants to enter the homes where they gathered oxycodone, methadone, five firearms, ammunition and prohibited weapons.

Five men, ages 51, 53, 39, 26, and 22 were arrested, along with three women, ages 19, 19 and 47. All the suspects are from Six Nations.

Five of those arrested were charged with possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking while three were charged with firearm offences.

Seven were released on a promise to appear in court, known as a Form 10.

The eight – a 22-year-old man – was held for a formal bail hearing and then later released on a recognition. He faces additional charges, including unauthorized possession of a firearm and five counts of failing to comply with a release order.
