The fantasy flood in streaming services is not ending: You can already see the film adaptations of The Wheel of Time and The Lord of the Rings as well as Carnival Row on Amazon’s streaming platform. All of these series take you to strange worlds full of magic and evil forces. Amazon follows up with a new project that sounds huge at first glance.
New Fantasy Series: That’s what Blood and Ash is all about
As the Hollywood Reporter reports, Amazon is adapting the series Blood and Ash as a series. The author Jennifer L. Armentrout has published 5 parts since 2020, and the 6th part is to follow in 2024. So the streaming service draws on the full and could do so for years if it is successful.
The Blood and Ash series will be about young Poppywho is chosen at birth to bring peace and prosperity to her kingdom. This fate isolates them from the rest of the world. She can only dream of freedom. Still, she trains her fighting skills with the guards. There is also a love story in Blood and Ash: one day the “gold-eyed” Hawke enters Poppy’s life and he makes her question her world. (Buy Blood and Ash Book Template from Amazon*)
Who is involved in Blood and Ash?
actresses and actors for the main characters Poppy and Hawke does not exist yet. The casting could be announced in the next few weeks. Anne Cofell Saunders, who most recently worked on The Boys and Star Trek: Discovery, will serve as showrunner and producer. Book author Armentrout herself will take on a position as a producer.
When is Blood and Ash coming?
Amazon seems to be working flat out on the film, the most important posts behind the camera have been filled. Nevertheless, it will still be with the implementation and publication last at least a year, possibly longer. And that’s not bad at all, because fantasy films take their time.
