After 26 years since its release, Diablo 1 has become playable on Android phones. If you have the original game, you can install it on your phone in a few steps.
It has been 26 years since the release of the first Diablo game, one of the main architects of Blizzard’s winning our hearts. In those days, if they said “you can play this game on your phone”, they probably wouldn’t believe it. However Diablo 1 on Android phones became playable. Below are the steps you need to follow.
Diablo 1 Android phone setup guide
It is not possible to download the first Diablo game to your phone from the Google Play Store, but if your installation files are still, you can transfer them with a few very simple steps.
- Going to the Google Play app DevilutionXDownload
- Open the “Diablo” folder installed on your computer, keep it aside
- After connecting your phone to your computer, open the “Androiddataorg.diasurgical.devilutionxfiles” folder on another screen
- First, copy the “DIABDAT.MPQ” file in the Diablo folder to the folder we mentioned above on your phone.
- If you have the Hellfire plugin and you want to play it, copy the files “HELLFIRE.MPQ, HFMONK.MPQ, HFMUSIC.MPQ, HFVOICE. MPQ” under the “Diablo/Hellfire” folder on your computer to your phone, to the same folder.
That is all. You will now be able to play Diablo 1 when you enter the DevilutionX application on your phone.
DevilutionX had previously developed a project to play Diablo through the browser, but they closed the page after a while. Probably because they will bring the project to the Android platform.
