a new system update there are quite a few new

Sony Interactive Entertainment is telling us about the rollout of a new system update for the PS5. Available now, all you have to do is start the download from your console to be able to take advantage of the new features. There are a few and the first is none other than variable refresh rate support for 1440p resolution. Basically, if you have an HDMI 2.1 cable and the screen that goes with it (compatible with 1440p/60 Hz, or 1440p/60 Hz and 120 Hz), it is possible to choose 1440p with the VRR, knowing that the results may vary by game. The discord chat is also finally accessible, which will undoubtedly delight players who have been asking for this option for a while. Here are all the features added with this 7.0.0 update:

New social features
Join a voice chat on Discord from your PS5 console. You can now join Discord server voice chats from your PS5 console and easily chat with your friends on most gaming platforms. To do this, follow these steps to link your Discord and PlayStation Network accounts from your PS5 console, or the Discord app on Windows, Mac, or mobile devices. Then use the Discord app on your mobile device or computer to enjoy voice chats on your PS5 console (make sure the Discord app has the latest update). Your friends on Discord will also be able to see your online status and what games you’re playing.

  • Note: If you’ve linked your PlayStation Network and Discord accounts in the past to view the games you’re playing, you’ll need to repeat the process on your PS5 console to grant the necessary permissions for Discord voice chat. If you participated in the beta of this update and have already linked your accounts at that time, you do not need to do so again.

Start or request a screen share from a friend’s profile. You can now send a screen sharing request or share your own screen with a friend from their profile. Just select the Screen Sharing icon on their profile to start a new session.

New “Join Party” icon in Party chats. On the voice chat map, an icon allows party members to join your game in progress. You can directly join the game by selecting the player and then choosing [Rejoindre la partie] in the menu.

New “Playing Friends” tile. On game portals, you can now see which of your friends own the game, who is online, and who is currently playing it. Select the tile to see your friends’ activities. You can also access their profile for more interaction options.

PS5

Manually uploading screenshots to the PlayStation App. You can now manually select and send individual screenshots or video clips to the PS App from your PS5 console, then easily share them on social media or with your friends.* This feature complements the auto-send currently present on the PS App.

PS5

New gameplay and customization options
Variable refresh rate support for 1440p resolutions. You can now enjoy smoother graphics performance on VRR-enabled HDMI 2.1 displays at 1440p resolution when playing titles that support VRR.**
We’ve also updated the PS5 console’s 1440p output settings, enabling support for this resolution on a wider range of HDMI displays.
To check if your HDMI device is compatible, go to [Paramètres] > [Écran et vidéo] > [Sortie vidéo] > [Tester la sortie 1440p].

PS5

Game library improvements.
It is now possible to sort and filter games when adding them to the list. Use the library filters to easily find all your PS VR games for example, or PS VR2 titles after release later this month.

PS5

Game Presets – multiplayer session preferences. Set your preferences for who can join your game and who can invite other players to multiplayer sessions you create on compatible games.

Meet in [Paramètres] > [Données sauvegardées et paramètres des jeux/applications] > [Préréglages des jeux] > [Sessions multijoueur en ligne]then select your preferences with [Qui peut rejoindre] And [Qui peut inviter].

New accessibility and usability features

Migration of saved data from PS4 to PS5. We’ve added two ways to easily access saved PS4 data on your PS5 console:
When you download or install a PS4 game on your PS5 console, a notification will indicate the availability of saved data on cloud storage in your PlayStation Network account (if your PS5 console does not yet have saved data for that game). You will then only need to select the notification to download your saved data.
When you download or install a PS5 game that is compatible with PS4 save data, such as the PS5 version of a game also released on PS4, the same notification will appear (if the game supports this feature).
(Note: Online storage of save data requires a PlayStation Plus subscription).

PS5

Data transfer between PS5 consoles. Now you can easily transfer your PS5 console data like games, saved data, user profiles, screenshots and videos to another PS5 console via Wi-Fi or LAN cable. Data can be transferred during the initial setup of the PS5 console or later, from the settings menu. This process does not delete or modify data from your original PS5 console.

PS5

Screen reader improvements. The screen reader now gives more detailed directions when navigating the console, such as which direction you can move, or your current location if there are multiple items. Also, if you use it to read web pages, the section being read aloud will be framed.

Updating the DualSense wireless controller system software wirelessly. It is now possible to update the DualSense Wireless Controller system software over a wireless connection. If you are having trouble updating the system software over a wireless connection, connect your controller to the PS5 console using the USB cable. You will be able to use the wireless connection in the next update.
