YouTuber Seltix is known for trying and testing everything from dating apps to influencer products. Now he wanted to find out how lucrative an account on the OnlyFans payment platform is and dared an experiment together with the Twitch streamer Hakan (24).
What was that experiment? Seltix wanted to know how easy it is to make money on OnlyFans. Originally he wanted to try it himself, but then he didn’t really feel comfortable with the idea.
Instead, in his March 4 video, the YouTuber accompanied fellow Twitch streamer Hakan, who had already toyed with the idea of selling content on OnlyFans.
How does OnlyFans work? Seltix basically describes OnlyFans as a social network. Users can set up their profiles and post there. The key difference, however, is that profiles can be monetized at will, which is why the platform is mostly used for distributing explicit content, especially pornography.
The YouTuber also explains that most of the money doesn’t necessarily come from the monthly subscriptions, but from private messages, the DMs. There customers can talk to the creators and also request specific content.
Seltix believes that the truth is that the attractive models are often not at the other end, but employees of OnlyFans agencies who would take on the “annoying part” – from chatting with customers to tediously finding the right photos and videos.
How easy is it to get rich on OnlyFans?
How did the experiment go? Hakan started out with a certain reach: he already had almost 5,000 followers on Twitch and even more on his main Twitter account. In addition, the 24-year-old stated that he already had initial experience with selling erotic images.
For the experiment, he produced content every day for 7 days and sold it – without any agency. If he enjoys it, he can imagine doing it in the long run, he said in advance. He later explained that it actually didn’t take much effort, he already had a lot of the content, but also added new ones.
How much did he earn? According to his own statements, the 24-year-old earned a three-digit amount on the first day. First he ordered something to eat.
By the end of the week, Hakan had earned $908. After deducting OnlyFans’ share, that ended up being the equivalent of €687. He also runs the account after the end of the experiment (as of March 7, 2023).
On Twitter, the content creator thanks for the support and explains that he already has “fans” in the three-digit range. On Twitch he still wants to remain the “funny Hakan” (via Twitter).
