Jon Sallinen hit the cameraman in the halfpipe qualifier this morning. Sallinen, who participated in the Olympics for the first time, did not make it to the finals.

With his first landing on the halfpipe qualifier, Sallinen flew straight towards the cameraman during the stunt.
Sallinen lay for a moment at the top of the gutter, but dropped out on his own. The timing of the tolerable effort on the trick failed.
– The jump came down badly and the balance left. I flew over to the cameraman. I hope he’s okay, I came down to the skis, Sallinen commented freshly to Sport.
– It took a little clavicle, but I wonder if we’ll get that second round on.
– Not terribly bad, at least not yet, but let’s see. You will then see it in the next round.
The flight looked pretty wild?
– Yeah. Aijjai, Sallinen commented.
Sallinen got 18 points for his bill.

“I wasn’t upstairs if I wanted to count”
Sallinen’s second fall also went wrong and dreams of the final failed.
Sallinen fell again at the same pace and scored 18.50. It wasn’t enough for the finals in the 12th best. Sallinen was 23rd.
Conditions in the qualifiers were challenging due to snowfall.
– I’m disappointed to myself. The workouts went well. Every time I trained, this decline was successful. Keli changed into a race and I didn’t get enough momentum to jump.
Sallinen said after the race that the crash of the 1st bill with the cameraman was a tough place.
– I seriously injured my shoulder. I wasn’t sure upstairs if I wanted to count. But on the inside I tried. I had to collect myself in it. We now have to check the condition of the clavicle, Sallinen comments after the qualifier.
