On Sunday March 5, the riders will set off from La Verrière for eight stages and 1,201 kilometers with a final finish the following Sunday in Nice.
Paris-Nice 2023 will start in Yvelines with a start and finish at La Verrière. 169.4 km long, the first stage should not be tricky for cyclists who a priori will not encounter any difficulty. Considered as hilly, the race provides for a double passage passing twice in the same place (La Verrière – Cernay-la-Ville – Auffargis – la Celle-les-Bordes – Saint-Rémy les Chevreuse – Côte de Milon-la-Chapelle – Chevreuse and Dampierre-en-Yvelines).
The Chevreuse valley is perhaps the only complicated place in this first stage, very famous for being used by amateur cyclists. At the end, it is the sprinters who should decide the first success in the day’s race. Frenchman Arnaud Démarre (Groupama-FDJ) is one of the favorite candidates to win this final. The highly anticipated duel between Pogacar and Vingegaard will most likely intensify at the end of Paris-Nice in the mid-mountain parts.
As every year, the race takes place over a week from Sunday March 5, 2023 to Sunday March 12, 2023.
The route of the 81st edition of Paris Nice was unveiled on Thursday January 5, 2023.
