American Tony “Lvndmark” is the most watched Twitch streamer on the popular shooter Escape from Tarkov. Cheating allegations against the 28-year-old have been hailing for years. Now he uses tape and a camera to prove his innocence.
What’s up with the allegations? Lvndmark has been actively streaming on Twitch since late 2019 and almost exclusively shows the tactical shooter Escape from Tarkov. As his popularity grew, so did the 28-year-old’s channel.
He now has over 1 million followers and an average of almost 10,500 viewers (via sullygnome). But almost the entire career of the streamer is accompanied by allegations of cheating. The allegations were already discussed in a 3 year old Reddit thread (via reddit).
In fact, Tarkov has a known cheating problem:

How is Lvndmark fighting back now? Most streamers show their main screen on Twitch and also their face via Facecam. Lvndmark went a step further on March 1 and attached another camera to his forehead. It should capture his point of view and thus prove that he is not looking at a hidden monitor.
Lvndmark took the unusual step after aborting his previous stream, annoyed by the allegations. The fashionable combination of webcam and tape was made from materials he already had on hand. The result is not only impractical, but it also looks gloriously silly, as the streamer revealed on Twitter:

The streamer was already warned in the comments: Most critics would still not believe him. In his stream, the 28-year-old explained that he was already aware that he would probably not convince anyone with the campaign, but it was still funny.

How is the action received? Pretty good. Lvndmark has already received 6,000 likes for his creative solution on Twitter, and the associated stream was also quite successful with a maximum of just over 15,000 viewers.
The forehead cam method has already found its first imitators. Reason enough for the “human aimbot” and shooter god, Michael “shroud” Grzesiek, to put his foot down: No evidence would ever be enough to convince some critics.
Streamers should keep doing their thing. The actual cheaters would eventually get caught anyway.
What did the action bring? Apparently not too much besides some laughs and a potential new twitch meta. In a thread on reddit that is probably not meant to be taken seriously, it is already being discussed whether Lvndmark plays much better without its cheats (via reddit).
Some pranksters on reddit point out that you can’t see Lvndmark’s cheats because he uses vibrations. They are referring to a cheating scandal that caused a stir in the chess world in 2022.
