Presented at the MWC (Mobile World Congress) show in Barcelona a few days ago, the Honor Magic 5 Pro already seems to have many qualities to shake the giants Samsung with its S23 Ultra and Apple with the iPhone 14 Pro Max. .
The Honor Magic 5 Pro joins the small family already made up of the Honor Magic 5 Lite. The latter has already been available for several months at the introductory price of €379 in Europe.

In order to impose itself on a market dominated by Samsung and Apple, the Honor Magic 5 Pro intends to have high performance and an exemplary design. Although the next phone from Honor is only announced for the second quarter of 2023, it is already possible to know everything about it.
What is the design of the Honor Magic 5 Pro?
If you’ve been following the latest Honor smartphones in recent years, the design of the Honor Magic 5 Pro shouldn’t surprise you. The latter takes up the idea of a camera in the shape of a circle on the back of the phone, as was already the case for the Magic 5 Lite. This rather protruding photo block is housed in a premium-looking glass back.
At the front, the Honor Magic 5 Pro has a 6.8 inch screen able to display a adaptive refresh rate up to 120 Hz. This rate allows you to have good fluidity within your games and applications, and can be adapted to save your battery. Honor promises display brightness of up to 1800 nits. A figure that impresses and promises excellent readability even in direct sunlight.
The selfie camera of the Honor Magic 5 Pro, meanwhile, is quite discreet. The front lens is integrated at the top left of the screen in a pill shaped block which is reminiscent of the “Dynamic Island” of the iPhone 14.
It should already be noted that the Honor Magic 5 Pro screen has passed through the expertise laboratories of the DXomark company. The latter then gave the score of 151, making the Honor Magic 5 Pro the smartphone with the best screen in the ranking (in front of the iPhone 14 Pro Max and the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra).
How will the Honor Magic 5 Pro perform?
On the power side, the Honor Magic 5 Pro can count on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. The latest chip from Qualcomm is also one of the most powerful on the market and already equips the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, which we have praised for performance. No doubt the Honor Magic 5 Pro will have excellent performance if CPU optimization is well integrated into the phone.
Will the Honor Magic 5 Pro take good photos?
For photography, Honor is again relying on a strategy of three goals grouped together in a large block on the back of the phone.
