Started #JagVatVadEnSnippaÄr – “Wanted to show the girl support”

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

The Court of Appeal acquitted a 50-year-old man of raping a 10-year-old girl. It is considered proven that the man’s finger was inside the girl’s nipple, but the Court of Appeal got stuck on what the girl meant by the word nipple.

Caroline Svelid, who runs the Instagram account polka dots, was upset when she heard this and started the hashtag #JagVatVadEnSnippaÄr.

– My heart broke for this girl who was exposed to this. And I wanted to show her and her family support by protesting digitally against what has happened, she says.

The hashtag has spread enormously on social media, which Caroline Svelid was not prepared for.

– I probably haven’t quite understood it yet. I’m just going along. It feels completely crazy, but in a good way. Hopefully, the girl and her family feel that they have enormous support and love behind them. And that it can lead to a change, because this must not happen, she says.

Lawyer Ulrika Rogland hopes that the Supreme Court will take up the case. She is a former judge and prosecutor who now works as a lawyer and plaintiff’s assistant with a focus on crimes against children, relationship violence, sexual crimes and honor violence.

– Children are often told that they can use whatever words they want, but that they must describe what has happened. And that is exactly what the girl has done in a very clear and believable way. It is completely absurd that the members then get stuck in the meaning of the word snippa itself, says Ulrika Rogland.
