When exactly does the preload start? The preload for Lightfall and thus for the update 7.0.0.1 will be made available today on all platforms, i.e. PC, Xbox and Playstation.
To prepare for the launch of Lightfall, Destiny 2 is scheduled to have a 24-hour hiatus. The shooter will therefore go offline today, February 27, 2023 from 5:45 p.m. and will not be online again until Tuesday evening at 6 p.m.

Even if you have downloaded the update and are back in-game, you may experience connection issues until the end of maintenance at 7:00 p.m. You may also have to expect queues when logging in.
Once Destiny 2 is offline you will no longer be able to claim rewards or items. All expiring rewards from Season 19 and The Witch Queen must therefore be purchased and claimed by the start of the shutdown today at 6pm on February 27th.

As always, on launch day, the API will be offline for a while, limiting the ability to transfer items via the companion app or other third-party apps. So it’s best to plan ahead today and throw your favorite weapons at the character you want to start with in Witch Queen.
