Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

The information comes from the political party that Eskinder Nega co-founded. The arrest took place last Friday night when he was traveling through the Bure district of Amhara.

“There were no criminal suspicions against him, he was not wanted or summoned to court before the arrest,” said the representative of the opposition party Balderas for Real Democracy.

According to the party source, authorities in Amhara are considering whether Eskinder Nega should be handed over to the central government in Addis Ababa.

Eskinder Nega has previously been imprisoned by authorities on several occasions. He was released in a January 2022 pardon after serving an 18-month prison sentence for participating in a demonstration critical of the regime.

At the last parliamentary election in 2021, the party ran but failed to get a seat in parliament.
