This time YouTube is on the agenda with the ‘1080p Premium’ test. According to The Verge, it all started when some Reddit users noticed a new ‘1080p Premium’ option in the quality settings menu. This situation has managed to attract the attention of many people. YouTube, on the other hand, has confirmed that it is trying a higher quality 1080p option for Premium subscribers after some Reddit users noticed the 1080p Premium option.
This option is currently available to “a small group of YouTube Premium subscribers,” according to company spokesperson Paul Pennington.
HOW WILL 1080P VIDEOS ON YOUTUBE BE BETTER QUALITY?
It looks like YouTube will do this by offering higher bitrate at the same resolution.
Because “1080p Premium is the increased bitrate version of 1080p,” Pennington said.
In addition, Pennington added that “there is no change in the quality currently available for 1080p (HD) resolution on YouTube.”
There have been concerns that YouTube is weakening the standard 1080p mode to make the Premium version more appealing.
However, in the statement in question, it is implied that the company has not made any changes in this regard.
