Chatham-Kent police attended a Talbot Trail residence in Merlin on Friday to check on the well-being of the homeowner.
The 59-year-old homeowner was located and well-being was verified.
While speaking to the homeowner, a 51-year-old man was located in the residence. This man was known to be wanted on two warrants, police said.
He was also allegedly on conditions not to be in the company of the homeowner and was charged for failing to comply.
He was arrested, taken to headquarters and held for bail.
While investigating the above matter, police arrested the homeowner for allegedly facilitating the man’s failure to comply.
The homeowner was taken to headquarters and later released with a short date.
Theft charge ugly
On Friday afternoon, police responded to Walmart in Wallaceburg for a theft investigation.
Police learned a man was allegedly removing items and leaving the store, not attempting to pay for them.
The 18-year-old Wallaceburg man was arrested and charged with theft and possession of stolen property.
He was taken to headquarters and released with a short date.
