Hard words in Norway after the nightmarish images of the star – completely disappeared: “It was panic”

Norway had several skiers do well in the WC skiathlon.
Then came the nightmare.
– It was panic, says star Anne Kjersti Kalvå.

Ebba Andersson and Frida Karlsson immediately took hold of the WC skiathlon, and were constantly at the front of the pack during the start of the race. Until the change of skis, however, several Norwegian skiers were also there, and above all the medal favorite in advance, Anne Kjersti Kalvå.

The big nightmare

But once the skis were changed, the race turned into a nightmare. Kalvå went out of the ski changing box, but was quickly forced to stop. One of her skis had suddenly let go, and she had to stop and try again. She lost valuable time, and thus the chances of a medal smoked all the way to the world.

While Ebba Andersson won gold and Frida Karlsson won silver, Kalvå ended up far behind in the results list, and she was not happy afterwards.

– I can’t get the skis on. I click down the binding, and it is not in the ski and then it goes forward. I lose the group, and I have no chance to catch up, she tells VG.

“There will be panic”

Kalvå was not completely satisfied with the location of the ski change, but was most disappointed with what she herself did there.

– It’s a brutal change of skis. We come in from a long hill, and go out in a long hill.

– I try to grab the ski immediately, but there is a bit of panic there.

Norway’s coaches were also not overjoyed with how the race unfolded.

– It is the worst time to do it, says Sjur Ole Svarstad.

However, Norway had a bronze medal to look forward to, as WC debutant Astrid Öyre Slind, 35, took a sensational third place.
