Valorant is currently running the Valorant Champions Tour 2023 LOCK//IN, an offline tournament in São Paulo in which teams from all over the world compete. On February 23rd, Turkey’s FUT Esports (FUT) team faced Indonesian-Filipino roster Rex Regum Qeon (RRQ). There the teams held a minute’s silence for the earthquake victims in Turkey and Syria, which the streamer unknowingly interrupted with a stupid comment.
Who is the person you are talking about? Taiwanese streamer Jeremy “DisguisedToast” Wang also featured the match on his channel. Meanwhile, he had nearly 5,900 viewers (via SullyGnome) and was on a voice call with Turkish-American Twitch streamer tarik. Tarik also showed the match and had around 57,000 viewers at the time (via SullyGnome).
Just before the start of the match, the teams held a minute’s silence for the victims of the earthquake in Syria and Turkey, which DisgusiedToast interrupted with a silly line.

How was the minute of silence broken? As the teams observed the minute’s silence, DisguisedToast commented, “That’s also good because one of my biggest problems is getting my partner wet.”
Toast’s comment came at a very inopportune time, of course, but had no intention of intentionally breaking the minute’s silence.
The streamer wasn’t paying close attention to what was happening, so he didn’t notice that the teams were observing a minute’s silence. Apparently, he responded with the saying to a comment on his Twitch chat that covered Valorant agent “Harbor.”
DisguisedToast also broke the minute’s silence not only for his own viewers, but also for his interlocutor tarik, with whom he watched the match, and his viewers. So he put his foot in it in front of a total of around 63,000 people.
What happened next? Since DisguisedToast obviously didn’t notice that the teams were observing a minute’s silence, tarik immediately interrupted him and pointed it out. DisgusiedToast then apologized and after the minute’s silence, decided to donate $1,000 to a charity fund (via Twitch).
Thousands of people lost their lives in the earthquake in the Turkish-Syrian border area on February 6th. Valorant e-sportswoman Gizem “Luie” Harmankaya also died in the disaster.
