Defenseman of the Dallas Stars NHL team Esa Lindell belongs to the owners of the new background company of the Helsinki Jokers. Lindell said he was ready for the project when he was contacted about the Jokers.
– There was an inquiry asking if you were interested. Without a doubt, it’s a great job to be able to help the foster club back on its feet. The purpose is to get to the League in time and get the junior side back to the top, Lindell told Urheilu.
Lindell is playing his own NHL season in a Dallas jersey, so at this point he has limited time and opportunities to influence the Jokers’ affairs.
– Maybe now more in the back, but not now as a back devil. My own season is underway, so I may not be able to say exactly, but time will tell, Lindell commented on his role in Jokers.
Helsinki Jokerit is aiming for a place in the Mestis series for the 2023-2024 season. Jokerit announced on Wednesday that the background is a completely new company, which includes, among other things, several NHL players with a Jokerit background.
There are other owners of the new background company at this stage Ossi Väänänen, Teuvo Teräväinen, Mikko Saarni, Markus Selin, Timo Mäkelä, Max Seeck and Jokerit ry.
Joker fans are also invited to join the background company with a directed share issue.
Mikko Rantanen’s throw surprised Lindell
of Colorado Mikko Rantanen described Lindell in his podcast as “the coolest guy in the whole series”. In Rantanen’s words, “presses all night long and still smiles afterwards”.
What do you say to Rantanen?
– I’m a little surprised. I would have thought that “Hakkis” (Jani Hakanpää) would be it. Let’s accept “pos” as such a basic luteer. It’s meant to make the guy, especially the number one, a tough night, Lindell said with a smile.
Dallas suffered a bitter 3-4 home loss to Chicago. The Stars rushed to a 3–0 lead in the second period, but the Blackhawks managed to get past.
The match ended dramatically when Dallas Tyler Seguin seemed to tie the game at 4-4 in the closing seconds. However, the goal was disallowed because the game time ended before the puck entered the goal.
