Secretary General of NATO Jens Stoltenberg expressed his disappointment at Russia’s decision to suspend compliance with the START treaty limiting nuclear weapons at Tuesday’s press conference.
President of Russia Vladimir Putin announced Russia’s decision earlier on Tuesday in his State of the Nation address.
Stoltenberg also said that he is increasingly concerned about China’s possible interest in supporting Russia with weapons in the war in Ukraine.
USA’s Blinken: Sad and irresponsible
US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken considers Putin’s speeches both annoying and irresponsible.
At the same time, he said that the United States is still ready to discuss the matter with Russia.
– We are always ready to discuss strategic arms limitation with Russia. It does not depend on what is happening in the world, or how the relations between our countries look like, Blinken said.
