In total, the price-adjusted sales development is estimated to have decreased by around 10 percent, according to figures from the industry organization Swedish grocery trade’s daily goods index.
“January, the poorest month of the year, became even poorer this year and it is also visible in the grocery store’s sales,” says Karin Brynell, CEO of Swedish Grocery Store, in a press release.
Sales in stores grew by 11.5 percent, while e-commerce decreased by 18.5 percent.
