Dead MMORPG returns – “It was the WoW of my youth”

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

Eden Eternal is an anime MMORPG set in a fairytale world that was shut down in 2021. Now the developers are bringing the game back.

The MMORPG first appeared in the global version in 2011, where it started as an open beta. Developers X-Legend Entertainment gave the role of publisher to Aeria Games, a company that now belongs to Gamigo.

In 2021, Gamigo decided to discontinue Eden Eternal “since the game could no longer sustain itself” (via massivelyOP). In February they closed the possibility for new registrations as well as the real money shop – at the end of April 2021 the servers of Eden Eternal finally went offline.

Developers now want to publish the MMORPG themselves

X-Legend is a development company that is responsible for numerous MMORPGs – including Aura Kingdom, Grand Fantasia, Twin Saga and Eden Eternal. They have given the publisher role to Gamigo for almost every one of their games. But now they are gradually taking back the MMORPGs.

Aura Kingdom and Grand Fantasia recently moved – back to the developers’ own service, away from the Gamigo Group. The German company is known for collecting MMORPGs (and killing some of them).

Now X-Legend want to bring Eden Eternal back to life and have already set up a website for it. “We’re going back to where we started,” is the motto under the title.

What is this game anyway? Eden Eternal is a free MMORPG with anime graphics that visually resembles a slightly modernized version of the classic NosTale. You create a character and can use it to switch between many different classes once you unlock them.

Players ride through the game world on different mounts and can attack opponents from their backs.

The MMORPG offers PvE content such as dungeons and boss fights, but PvP is also possible. In addition, guilds can own their own cities, where players then operate housing.
