Dune by Denis Villeneuve has created a hype. The 2021 remake of the sci-fi classic with an extensive star cast is considered by many fans of the genre to be the best major production of recent years. Last fall, the “Pain Box Edition” was released as ultimate home theater release of the epic streak that is now particularly cheap put on the shelf.
The limited special edition is available at Amazon currently for only 44.99 euros * instead of the last 58.32 euros, which according to our research in various price search engines is the new low price. The special edition is also currently available from MediaMarkt at this price *, while other retailers only start from well over 60 euros in some cases.
This is what the “Pain Box Edition” from Dune offers
The heart of the limited “Pain Box Edition” is the 4K/UHD Blu-ray of the film with Dolby Vision HDR and Dolby Atmos soundtrack and there is also a special edition as usual also a “normal” Blu-ray with Full HD resolution.
The discs come in a slipcase the eponymous pain box from the film is modeled after: In a memorable scene from Dune, the main character Paul Atreides (Timothée Chalamet) sticks his hand in a box as a test of courage, the contents of which cause him immense pain. In addition, the edition with a booklet and picture cards equipped to the different figures.

With the “Pain Box Edition” fans should be able to prepare for the release of the sequel planned for this year: Dune 2 is scheduled to hit German cinemas on November 2nd, 2023 and continue the story of the book about Paul Atreides and the desert planet Arrakis.
