Companies must be able to apply for electricity support on 30 May

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

“Many companies and organizations are hit hard by the energy crisis and high electricity prices. We are now moving forward with an electricity subsidy to support, among other things, the companies, which are Sweden’s job creators and form the backbone of Swedish competitiveness and welfare,” says Energy and Business Minister Ebba Busch (KD ) in a press release.

The electricity support for companies has been significantly delayed, compared to what the government had previously envisaged. The support is to compensate for high electricity prices for companies in electricity areas 4 and 3, that is in southern and central Sweden. It is based on consumption from October 2021 through September 2022. The maximum amount that can be paid out is just over SEK 20 million.

In total, the support covers up to SEK 29 billion. It is the Swedish Tax Agency, according to the government’s proposal, that will manage the support.
