A talking point at the conference is the speech that Russian President Vladimir Putin gave back in 2007.
– Vladimir Putin then surprised with a rebellious and sharp speech directed at the USA and NATO, which had just welcomed new member states from Eastern Europe, says SVT’s European correspondent Christoffer Wendick.
Putin said he had previously received security guarantees that NATO would not expand eastward and that the United States had now broken this agreement.
