The reboot made every effort to circumvent all fan wishes and took the entire universe into the abyss with it. Three years later, a new reboot is being worked on.
DC director to bring back fantasy franchise with new Hellboy
This is reported by DiscussingFilm. consequently Brian Taylor is set to take over the new film. The director is no stranger to comic adaptations. His credits include co-writing the DC adaptation Jonah Hex, co-directing Ghost Rider 2: Spirit of Vengeance, and being known for the Crank films with Mark Neveldine.
According to a source on DiscussingFilm the film will be titled Hellboy: The Crooked Man. It is not known whether it is based on the comic series of the same name. There, in the 1950s Appalachia, Hellboy tries to free a man from a cruel demon.
When is the new Hellboy coming to Germany?
A cinema or streaming start is not yet known, but filming should start in April. Accordingly, we could consider a publication end of 2024 introduce. After the colossal flop of the last Hellboy, it is not entirely unlikely that the reboot will appear on a major streaming provider instead of in the cinema.
