The person, who was in his 70s, entered the medical emergency department because of increasing chest pains and was enrolled in the medical clinic for observation and investigation. Then it took several hours before a diagnosis was made and only then was the bleeding in the body artery discovered.
The patient was taken in an ambulance to be operated on at the University Hospital in Linköping, but died on the way.
