Residents in western Sweden are now being asked to stay inside before storm Otto moves in on Friday. The storm is expected to become intense and reach hurricane force in the villages.

An orange warning for gale force winds has been issued which mainly applies in northwestern Skåne, southwestern Kronoberg, Västra Halland and southwestern Bohuslän. There, there are expected to be storm gusts of between 27 and 31 meters per second along the coast, and locally it can be even windier. In connection with the wind, a lot of rain is also expected. The low pressure continues tomorrow, Saturday, towards Öland and Gotland.
If the wind turbines stand still, we will see very low electricity prices as a result, says Madeleine Westin.
